Product Overview:
Violet Red Bile Glucose Agar (VRBGA) is a selective solid culture medium designed for the isolation and enumeration of Enterobacteriaceae. The medium does not contain lactose and uses glucose as the fermentable carbohydrate. It is suitable for routine microbiological analysis in food testing, environmental monitoring, and quality control laboratories.

Composition (per liter):

• Peptone – 7.0 g

• Yeast Extract – 3.0 g

• Bile Salt No. 3 – 1.5 g

• Sodium Chloride – 5.0 g

• Glucose – 10.0 g

• Neutral Red – 0.03 g

• Crystal Violet – 0.002 g

• Agar – 12.0 g

• pH 7.4 ± 0.2 (at 25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

1. Suspend 38.5 g of the medium in 1 L of distilled or deionized water (adjust proportionally if needed).

2. Heat with stirring and boil for more than 1 minute until completely dissolved.

3. Cool to approximately 55℃.

4. Pour into sterile Petri dishes.

5. Allow to solidify and use as required.
