Enterococcus Broth – Selective Enrichment Medium for Enterococci, 250g

Enterococcus Broth is formulated for the selective enrichment of enterococci (fecal streptococci) in food, water, and clinical microbiology applications. Its composition supports enterococci growth while suppressing non-target microorganisms.

Composition (per liter):

• Peptone – 17.0 g

• Beef Extract – 3.0 g

• Yeast Extract – 5.0 g

• Ox Bile – 10.0 g

• Sodium Chloride – 5.0 g

• Sodium Citrate – 1.0 g

• Esculin – 1.0 g

• Ammonium Ferric Citrate – 0.5 g

• Inhibitor – 0.25 g

• Final pH: 7.1 ± 0.2 (at 25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

1. Dissolve 42.8 g of dehydrated medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.

2. Heat to boiling until completely dissolved.

3. Dispense into suitable containers.

4. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 30 minutes.

5. Cool to room temperature and store under aseptic conditions until use.

Storage:
Store in a tightly sealed container at room temperature in a dry place. Shelf life: 3 years.
