Double Modified Lysine Iron Agar Base (DMLIA) is a highly specialized medium designed for the selective isolation and differentiation of Salmonella species. With added newborn streptomycin (1.5mg per 100ml), this medium supports the growth of Salmonella while inhibiting the growth of other competing microorganisms. It is ideal for laboratory testing, food safety, and clinical diagnostics, especially in detecting Salmonella in complex samples.

Instructions for Use:
To prepare, dissolve 63.12g of DMLIA in 1L of distilled or deionized water. Boil for 1 minute to dissolve completely. Cool to 50°C and add 1 vial of newborn streptomycin (1.5mg per 100ml). Gently mix, pour into petri dishes, and allow to solidify.

Storage: Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Shelf life: 3 years.

  • L-Lysine: 10.0g

  • Ammonium Ferric Citrate: 0.8g

  • Sodium Thiosulfate: 6.8g

  • Bile Salts: 1.5g

  • Lactose: 10.0g

  • Sucrose: 10.0g

  • Bromocresol Purple: 0.02g

  • Agar: 15.0g

  • pH: 6.7 ± 0.2 at 25°C
