Composition (per liter)

• Peptic Digest of Animal Tissue – 10.0 g

• Lactalbumin Hydrolysate – 5.0 g

• Yeast Extract – 5.0 g

• Sodium Chloride – 5.0 g

• Sodium Pyruvate – 0.5 g

• Sodium Metabisulfite – 0.5 g

• Sodium Carbonate – 0.6 g

• α-ketoglutaric acid – 1.0 g

• pH: 7.4 ± 0.2 (25°C)

Preparation Instructions

Dissolve 27.6g of the dehydrated medium in 1000ml distilled or deionized water. Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until fully dissolved. Dispense into containers and sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool to approximately 45°C. For each 100ml of medium, add 1 vial of Bolton Broth Base supplement and 5ml sterile lysed defibrinated sheep blood. Mix thoroughly and store until use.
