Product Overview:

Trypticase Soy Agar (TSA) is a versatile and widely used medium that supports the growth of aerobic microorganisms. It is especially beneficial for aerobic bacterial culture and the testing of antimicrobial efficacy in pharmaceutical and clinical laboratories. TSA contains a balanced mix of trypticase (peptide fragments), enzymatic digest of soybean meal, and sodium chloride for optimal growth of a broad spectrum of microorganisms.


Composition:

Per liter of medium:

  • Trypticase (Pancreatic Digest of Casein): 15.0g

  • Enzymatic Digest of Soybean Meal: 5.0g

  • Sodium Chloride (NaCl): 5.0g

  • Agar: 15.0g

pH: 7.3 ± 0.2 (at 25°C)


Application:

Trypticase Soy Agar is designed for:

  1. Aerobic bacterial culture: Ideal for growing a wide variety of microorganisms, including those from clinical, pharmaceutical, and environmental samples.

  2. Antimicrobial efficacy testing: Used in studies evaluating the effectiveness of antimicrobial agents.


Instructions for Use:

  1. Weigh 40.0g of the medium.

  2. Dissolve in 1L of distilled or deionized water.

  3. Boil and mix until fully dissolved.

  4. Dispense into appropriate containers.

  5. Sterilization: Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes or at 115°C for 30 minutes. Shake well after sterilization to prevent agar from solidifying at the bottom of the container.

  6. The medium is now ready for use.
