Intended Use:​

Specifically formulated for staining and observing fungal morphology, enabling clear identification of spores, hyphae, and asci in laboratory settings.​

How to Use:​

  1. Prepare a smear: Place 1-3 drops of lactophenol cotton blue stain in the center of a slide.​

  1. Using a sterile inoculating loop or dissecting needle, take a small amount of mycelium with spores from the edge of a mold colony, place it in the stain, and disperse the mycelium for even distribution. Note: Mold culture time should not be excessively long, as excessive spores may interfere with staining and observation of hyphae and asci.​

  1. Cover with a clean coverslip, press gently to make a flattened preparation, taking care to avoid air bubbles.​

  1. Observe fungal morphology using a light microscope under low, high, or oil immersion magnification.​

  1. Result interpretation: Fungal components (especially Aspergillus fumigatus) such as spores and hyphae appear blue, bright blue, dark blue, or navy blue.
