Tryptone Yeast Cystine (TYC) Broth Medium, Selective Medium for Streptococcus Isolation, 250g
Tryptone Yeast Cystine (TYC) Broth Medium is designed for the isolation, cultivation, and enrichment of blood streptococci from clinical, oral, and environmental samples.
The medium contains tryptone and yeast extract as rich sources of nitrogen and growth factors, L-cystine to support streptococcal growth, and sucrose for differentiation and metabolic activity. Sodium acetate and other buffering salts help maintain pH stability.
When supplemented with Bacitracin solution (final concentration: 0.2 U/ml), TYC Broth exhibits enhanced selectivity by inhibiting background flora, making it suitable for the detection and study of streptococci in complex microbiota.
Key Features:
Formulated for blood streptococci cultivation and isolation
Supports streptococci growth with rich peptone, yeast extract, and cystine
Optional Bacitracin supplement enhances selectivity
Pack size: 250g/bottle
