Tetrathionate Broth Base (TTB) is a selective enrichment medium designed for the cultivation and selective enrichment of Salmonella species. When combined with iodine solution and 0.1% brilliant green solution before use, it provides a highly selective environment for isolating Salmonella from clinical, food, or environmental samples.

Preparation Instructions
Dissolve 46.0 g of the medium in 1 L of distilled or deionized water.
Heat to boiling until completely dissolved.
Dispense and sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes or 115°C for 30 minutes.
Cool and store in a cool, dark place until use.
Before use, add 1 vial each of iodine solution and 0.1% brilliant green solution per 100 ml of medium. Mix thoroughly and shake gently while dispensing.
