STAA Agar Base for Salmonella Isolation – 250g
STAA Agar Base is a versatile microbiological medium used for the preparation of STA or STAA media by adding specific antibiotics, designed for the selective isolation of heat-treated Salmonella spp. Its nutrient-rich composition supports reliable bacterial growth while allowing selective suppression of non-target microorganisms.
Key Features:
Used to prepare STA or STAA agar for Salmonella isolation.
Formulated with peptone, yeast extract, dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, magnesium sulfate, and agar.
Supports selective bacterial growth with added antibiotics.
Easy to prepare and sterilize.
Long shelf life: 3 years at room temperature.
Instructions for Use:
Dissolve 37.0g of STAA Agar Base in 1L distilled or deionized water.
Add 7.5g glycerol and heat, boiling for 1 minute until fully dissolved.
Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
Cool to approximately 50°C, then aseptically add the required antibiotics:
