Silicate Bacteria Medium for Cultivation of Silicate Bacteria – 250g
Silicate Bacteria Medium is a specialized microbiological medium designed for the cultivation of silicate bacteria. This medium is free from potassium feldspar and includes glass powder as a key component to support the growth of bacteria involved in the weathering and transformation of silicate minerals. It is ideal for research into biogeochemical cycles and microbial activities related to silicate degradation.
Key Features:
Ideal for the cultivation of silicate-degrading bacteria.
Free from potassium feldspar, focusing on silicate mineral weathering.
Contains glass powder for microbial interaction with silicate minerals.
High-quality ingredients ensure reliable and reproducible results.
Sterilization ready: Easily prepared for use by autoclaving.
Long shelf life: Stable for up to 3 years at room temperature.
Instructions for Use:
To prepare, dissolve 23.6g of Silicate Bacteria Medium in 1L of distilled or deionized water. Boil for 1 minute to ensure the agar dissolves completely. Adjust the volume with water, then sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes or at 115°C for 30 minutes. After sterilization, gently shake the medium to mix and prevent agar from settling. Cool to approximately 50°C and pour into petri dishes to solidify.
Storage: Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Shelf life: 3 years.
