Selective Cattle Heart Broth Enrichment Medium – Streptococci Selective Broth, 250g

This medium is specifically formulated for selective enrichment of streptococci in clinical, food, and environmental microbiology applications. Its composition ensures targeted growth while suppressing unwanted bacteria.

Composition (per liter):

• Beef Extract – 5.0 g

• Peptone – 20.0 g

• Glucose – 3.0 g

• Sodium Bicarbonate – 2.0 g

• Sodium Chloride – 2.0 g

• Disodium Phosphate Dodecahydrate – 2.0 g

• Inhibitor – 0.075 g

• Crystal Violet – 0.002 g

• Final pH: 7.4 ± 0.2 (at 25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

1. Dissolve 34.0 g of dehydrated medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.

2. Heat to boiling until completely dissolved.

3. Dispense into test tubes or suitable containers.

4. Sterilize at 115℃ for 20 minutes.

5. Cool to room temperature and store under aseptic conditions until use.

Storage:
Store in a tightly sealed container at room temperature in a dry place. Shelf life: 3 years.
