Product Overview:
Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) is a solid culture medium commonly used for the cultivation and enumeration of molds and yeasts. The formulation contains a high concentration of dextrose and a mildly acidic pH, making it suitable for routine fungal culture in microbiology laboratories.


Composition (per liter):

  • Mixture of Peptic Digest of Animal Tissue and Pancreatic Digest of Casein (1:1) – 10.0 g

  • Dextrose – 40.0 g

  • Agar – 15.0 g

  • pH 5.6 ± 0.2 (at 25℃)


Preparation Instructions:

  1. Suspend 65.0 g of the medium in 1 L of distilled or deionized water (adjust proportionally if required).

  2. Heat and boil until completely dissolved.

  3. Dispense into suitable containers.

  4. Sterilize at 121℃ for 15 minutes or at 115℃ for 30 minutes.

  5. Shake gently after sterilization to prevent agar settling, then cool and use as required.
