Product Overview:
Rappaport Vassiliadis Salmonella Enrichment Broth (RVS Broth) is a selective liquid culture medium used for the enrichment of Salmonella species. It is commonly applied in food microbiology, environmental testing, and quality control laboratories requiring reliable selective enrichment media.
Composition (per liter):
Soya Peptone – 4.5 g
Sodium Chloride – 7.2 g
Monopotassium Phosphate – 1.26 g
Dipotassium Phosphate – 0.18 g
Magnesium Chloride, Anhydrous – 13.4 g
(equivalent to Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate 28.6 g)Malachite Green – 0.036 g
pH 5.2 ± 0.2 (at 25℃)
Preparation Instructions:
Suspend 26.6 g of the medium in 1 L of distilled or deionized water.
Heat gently until completely dissolved.
Dispense into tubes.
Sterilize at 121℃ for 15 minutes.
Cool to room temperature before use.
