Pseudomonas Agar Medium for Detection of Fluorescin Base is a dehydrated microbiological culture medium used for the detection and cultivation of Pseudomonas species based on fluorescin production.

This medium supports the growth of Pseudomonas organisms and enables visual observation of fluorescin pigmentation after incubation. The formulation requires the addition of glycerol prior to sterilization to complete the medium preparation.

The product is supplied as a dry powder, allowing flexible preparation according to laboratory requirements. It is suitable for routine microbiological testing, research laboratories, and quality control environments.

4️⃣ Medium Composition

Composition per liter:

  • Pancreatic Digest of Casein — 10.0 g
  • Peptic Digest of Animal Tissue — 10.0 g
  • Dipotassium Phosphate — 1.5 g
  • Magnesium Sulfate — 1.5 g
  • Agar — 15.0 g

5️⃣ Preparation Instructions

  1. Suspend 3.8 g of the medium in 100 ml of distilled or deionized water.
  2. Add 1 ml glycerol per 100 ml of prepared medium.
  3. Heat with agitation and bring to boiling until completely dissolved.
  4. Dispense into suitable containers.
  5. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
  6. Cool and use as required.
