Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) is a specialized solid medium designed for the counting of molds and yeasts. This 250g bottle provides a high-quality formulation optimized to support the growth and enumeration of fungi, making it a reliable tool for microbiological testing and laboratory applications.​

  • Formula (per liter): Contains infusion from potatoes (equivalent to 200g peeled potatoes, 11.0g), Dextrose (20.0g), and Agar (15.0g), with a pH of 5.6±0.2 at 25°C.​

  • Storage: Stable at room temperature with a 3-year shelf life, ensuring consistent performance over time.​

Preparation Instructions

  1. Dissolve 46.0g of the medium in 1L of distilled or deionized water using gentle heat.​

  1. Dispense into containers and sterilize at 115°C for 30 minutes.​

  1. After sterilization, shake well to prevent agar from settling at the bottom.​

  1. Cool to approximately 50°C, then pour into petri dishes and allow to solidify before use.​

This PDA medium is ideal for laboratories requiring accurate counting of molds and yeasts in various samples.
