Application

Potassium Solubilizing Fluid Medium is designed for the cultivation of potassium-solubilizing bacteria (silicate bacteria). It does not contain agar and is suitable for liquid culture applications, providing the essential nutrients required for microbial growth and the solubilization of potassium from feldspar.

Composition (per liter)

• Sucrose – 5.0 g

• Glucose – 5.0 g

• Ammonium sulfate – 0.5 g

• Yeast extract – 0.5 g

• Magnesium sulfate – 0.3 g

• Disodium hydrogen phosphate – 2.0 g

• Ferrous sulfate – 0.03 g

• Manganese sulfate – 0.03 g

• Potassium feldspar – 2.0 g

pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 (25℃)

Instructions for Use

1. Weigh 15.4 g of the medium and dissolve in 1 L of distilled or deionized water.

2. Autoclave at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

3. After sterilization, cool to room temperature before inoculation.
