Pantothenic Acid Assay Medium is a specialized microbiological culture medium designed for the quantitative determination of pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5) in milk powder, food, and other nutritional products. Its carefully balanced formulation ensures sensitivity, accuracy, and reproducibility in vitamin assay experiments.

L-Cystine: 0.4 g
L-Tryptophan: 0.1 g
MgSO4: 0.4 g
NaCl: 20.0 mg
FeSO4: 20.0 mg
MnSO4: 20.0 mg
Adenine Sulfate: 20 mg
Guanine Hydrochloride: 20 mg
Uracil: 20 mg
β-Carotene: 0.4 mg
Thiamine Hydrochloride: 0.2 mg
Biotin: 0.8 µg
Pyridoxine Hydrochloride: 0.8 mg
Niacin: 1.0 mg
p-Aminobenzoic Acid: 0.2 mg
Polysorbate 80 (Tween 80): 0.1 g
Vitamin-free Casein Hydrolysate: 10.0 g
Final pH: 6.7 ± 0.1 (20–25°C)
Instructions for Use:
Dissolve 7.3 g of medium in 100 ml distilled or deionized water.
Boil until completely dissolved.
Dispense 5 ml per test tube, ensuring even distribution (medium is turbid).
Add the appropriate standard solution or test sample.
Supplement with distilled water to reach a final volume of 10 ml.
Sterilize at 121°C for 10 minutes, then cool rapidly to room temperature.
