Product Overview

Nutrient Agar with TTC is a dehydrated solid culture medium designed for the enumeration of total bacterial count. The formulation is based on standard nutrient agar and supplemented with 2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC), making it suitable for routine microbiological analysis.

This medium is widely applied in food testing, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical quality control, and general microbiology laboratories.

Medium Composition (per liter)

• Peptone: 10.0 g

• Beef Extract: 3.0 g

• Sodium Chloride: 5.0 g

• Agar: 15.0 g

• TTC (2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium Chloride): 0.01 g

Final pH: 7.3 ± 0.1 (at 25 °C)

Preparation Instructions

Suspend 33.0 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water. Heat with agitation and boil until completely dissolved. Dispense as required and sterilize by autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes. After sterilization, mix well to prevent agar precipitation and allow to cool before use.
