Neisseria gonorrhoeae Basal Medium – 250g for Laboratory Use
Neisseria gonorrhoeae Basal Medium is a specially formulated growth medium designed for enrichment cultivation of Neisseria gonorrhoeae (gonococcus). For optimal growth, it requires supplementation with 7–10% sterile defibrinated sheep blood. This medium supports laboratory isolation and research of gonococcal strains.

Applications

Preparation Instructions
Dissolve 26 g of the medium in 1 L of distilled or deionized water at moderate temperature.
Autoclave at 121℃ for 15 minutes.
Cool to 55℃.
Aseptically add 7–10 ml of sterile defibrinated sheep blood per 100 ml of medium. Mix gently.
Optional: To increase selectivity, add 1 vial of S1802 per 100 ml after cooling below 50℃.
Pour into plates or tubes and allow to solidify before use.
