MY Medium

MY Medium is a specialized culture medium designed for the cultivation of palm fermentation bacteria. It provides a balanced nutrient composition of carbohydrates, nitrogen sources, salts, and buffering agents to support bacterial growth and fermentation research.

Formula (per liter):

• Maltose – 20.0 g

• Yeast extract – 10.0 g

• Sodium chloride – 5.0 g

• KH2PO4 – 2.0 g

• Final pH: 6.0 ± 0.2 (25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

1. Dissolve 37.0 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.

2. Warm gently to aid dissolution.

3. Dispense into suitable containers.

4. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

5. Shake well after sterilization and store until use.
