
MS Medium – Soybean Flour Mannitol Agar for Streptomyces Cultivation, 250g
MS Medium (Mannitol Soybean Flour Agar) is formulated for the cultivation of Streptomyces species, supporting growth and sporulation. The combination of soybean flour and mannitol provides essential nutrients and carbon sources, while agar serves as a solidifying agent, making it suitable for microbiological and research applications.
Complete Formula (per liter):
Soybean Flour: 20.0 g
Mannitol: 20.0 g
Agar: 20.0 g
Final pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25°C
Instructions for Use:
Suspend 60.0 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.
Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until fully dissolved.
Dispense into containers.
Sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes.
Cool and use as required.
