The MRS Broth without Dextrose is a nutrient-rich liquid culture medium specially formulated for the growth and enrichment of lactic acid bacteria, including Lactobacillus species. This formulation excludes dextrose, making it suitable for studies requiring sugar-free conditions, while still supporting robust bacterial growth for probiotic research, fermentation studies, and microbiological applications.

Composition (per liter):
Peptone – 10.0 g
Beef Extract – 8.0 g
Yeast Extract – 4.0 g
Tween 80 – 1.0 g
Sodium Acetate·H₂O – 5.0 g
K₂HPO₄·7H₂O – 2.0 g
Ammonium Citrate Tribasic – 2.0 g
MgSO₄·7H₂O – 0.2 g
MnSO₄·4H₂O – 0.05 g
pH: 6.2 ± 0.1 (25℃)
Preparation Instructions:
Dissolve 32.2 g of the medium in 1L distilled or deionized water.
Heat gently to boiling until fully dissolved.
Dispense into suitable containers.
Sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.
Cool to room temperature before inoculation.
⚠️ Note: The medium may clump due to Tween 80, but this does not affect its performance.
