Product Overview:
Modified CCD Agar Base is a selective culture medium designed for the isolation and cultivation of Campylobacter species. The formulation supports optimal growth while suppressing competing microorganisms. This medium is widely used in microbiological laboratories for food safety testing, clinical diagnostics, and research applications.

Composition (per liter):

  • Beef Extract – 10.0 g

  • Peptic Digest of Animal Tissue – 10.0 g

  • Sodium Chloride – 5.0 g

  • Charcoal – 4.0 g

  • Pancreatic Digest of Casein – 3.0 g

  • Sodium Desoxycholate – 1.0 g

  • Ferrous Sulfate – 0.25 g

  • Sodium Pyruvate – 0.25 g

  • Agar – 18.0 g

  • pH 7.4 ± 0.2 (25℃)

Instructions for Use:

  1. Dissolve 51.5 g of powder in 1 L of distilled or deionized water.

  2. Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until fully dissolved.

  3. Dispense into containers and sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

  4. Shake well after sterilization. Cool to 45–50℃.

  5. Add selective supplement (containing cefoperazone, amphotericin B, and rifampicin) at the ratio of 1 vial per 100 mL medium. Mix well.

  6. Pour into sterile Petri dishes, allow to solidify, and use for selective isolation of Campylobacter.
