Product Overview:
Malt Extract Agar (MEA) is a commonly used microbiological medium for fungal cultivation and antifungal testing. Its rich nutrient composition supports the growth of a wide range of yeasts and molds, making it suitable for laboratory analysis, quality control, and microbiological research.

Composition (per liter):

  • Malt Extract: 30.0g

  • Enzymatic Digest of Soybean Meal: 3.0g

  • Agar: 15.0g

  • pH 5.6 ± 0.2 (at 25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Weigh 48.0g of the medium and suspend in 1L of distilled or deionized water.

  2. Heat to boiling until completely dissolved.

  3. Dispense into suitable containers.

  4. Sterilize at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

  5. Mix well after sterilization to avoid agar sedimentation at the bottom.
