M4 Medium – Agar-Based Medium for Actinomycete Cultivation, 250g

M4 Medium is formulated for the cultivation of Actinomycetes, providing humic acid, plant peptone, MOPS buffer, betaine, and sodium pyruvate as essential nutrients. With sodium chloride and agar, it creates a stable and selective growth environment suitable for microbiological and research applications.

Complete Formula (per liter):

• Humic Acid: 1.0 g

• Plant Peptone: 0.5 g

• MOPS Buffer: 10 mmol

• Betaine: 1.25 g

• Sodium Pyruvate: 1.25 g

• Sodium Chloride (NaCl): 10.0 g

• Agar: 12.0 g

• Final pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Instructions for Use:

1. Dissolve 26.2 g of medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.

2. Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until completely dissolved.

3. Dispense into containers.

4. Sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes.

5. Cool and store until ready for use.
   Antibiotics may be added as required to enhance selectivity.
