M3 Medium – Agar-Based Medium for Actinomycete Cultivation, 250g

M3 Medium is designed for the cultivation of Actinomycetes, providing a balanced nutrient composition with peptone, beef extract, betaine, and sodium pyruvate. Supplemented with sodium chloride and agar, it creates a stable selective environment suitable for microbiological and research applications.

Complete Formula (per liter):

• Peptone: 1.0 g

• Beef Extract: 0.5 g

• Betaine: 1.25 g

• Sodium Pyruvate: 1.25 g

• Sodium Chloride (NaCl): 10.0 g

• Agar: 12.0 g

• Final pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 at 25°C

Instructions for Use:

1. Dissolve 26.0 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.

2. Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until completely dissolved.

3. Dispense into suitable containers.

4. Sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes.

5. Cool and store until needed.
   Antibiotics may be added as required to enhance selectivity.
