Composition (per liter)
Chitin — 1.0 g
Sodium Pyruvate — 1.25 g
Magnesium Sulfate Heptahydrate (MgSO4·7H2O) — 0.5 g
Dipotassium Phosphate (K2HPO4) — 0.7 g
Ferrous Sulfate Heptahydrate (FeSO4·7H2O) — 0.01 g
Sodium Chloride (NaCl) — 10.0 g
Agar — 12.0 g
Final pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 (25°C)
Directions for Use
- Suspend 25.5 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.
- Heat and boil for at least 1 minute until the medium is completely dissolved.
- Dispense into suitable containers.
- Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
- Allow the medium to cool before use or before pouring agar plates if required.
