m-TGE Broth (Tryptone Glucose Extract Broth) is a high-quality culture medium formulated for the enumeration of total bacterial counts in dairy products using the membrane filtration method. Its balanced formulation provides the nutrients necessary for optimal microbial recovery in microbiological testing.

Composition (per liter)

  • Enzymatic Digest of Casein (Tryptone): 10.0 g

  • Beef Extract: 6.0 g

  • Dextrose: 2.0 g

  • pH: 7.0 ± 0.2 (at 25°C)

Preparation Instructions

  1. Weigh 18.0 g of m-TGE Broth powder and add to 1 L of distilled or deionized water.

  2. Stir until fully dissolved.

  3. Dispense into suitable containers.

  4. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.

  5. Cool and store for later use.
