Lauryl Sulfate Tryptose Broth (LST) – Medium for E. coli and Coliform Testing, 250g

Lauryl Sulfate Tryptose Broth (LST) is a selective medium used for detection and enumeration of Escherichia coli and coliform bacteria. Supplied in 250g bottles, it is stable at room temperature with a shelf life of 3 years, suitable for microbiology laboratories performing water, food, and environmental testing.

Composition (per liter):

• Pancreatic Digest of Casein: 20.0g

• Sodium Chloride: 5.0g

• Lactose: 5.0g

• Dipotassium Phosphate: 2.75g

• Monopotassium Phosphate: 2.75g

• SDS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate): 0.1g

pH: 6.8 ± 0.2 (25°C)

Usage Instructions:
Dissolve 35.6g of medium in 1L of distilled or deionized water. Heat to boiling until completely dissolved. Dispense and sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool and use for testing E. coli and coliform bacteria.
