Hugh-Leifson Medium without Dextrose 250g – O/F Test Culture Medium
Hugh-Leifson Medium without Dextrose (O/F Medium) is a dehydrated culture medium used for bacterial glucose utilization tests to determine fermentative or oxidative metabolism. This formulation does not contain dextrose and allows flexibility for adding glucose or other carbohydrates as required.
Each bottle contains 250g of powder with a shelf life of 3 years when stored at room temperature.
Preparation Instructions:
Suspend 11.3g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water. Add 10g of glucose separately, boil for 1 minute to dissolve completely, dispense into tubes, and sterilize at 121°C for 15 minutes. Allow to solidify in upright position before use.
