Glucose Asparagine Fluid Medium for Streptomyces Cultivation – 250g
Glucose Asparagine Fluid Medium (Waksman, 1961) is a liquid medium formulated for the cultivation of Streptomyces species. It provides glucose as a carbon source and asparagine as a nitrogen source, creating a nutrient-balanced environment for the growth of actinomycetes. This medium is widely used in microbiological research and laboratory studies.
Medium Composition (per liter):
Glucose: 10.0g
Asparagine: 0.5g
Di-potassium Hydrogen Phosphate (K2HPO4): 0.5g
pH adjusted to 7.4 ± 0.2 at 25°C.
Instructions for Use:
Dissolve 11.0g of medium in 1L of distilled or deionized water.
Warm gently until completely dissolved, dispense as needed.
Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
After cooling, the medium is ready for use.
Optional: For enhanced performance, 50% seawater can be used instead of distilled water or deionized water.
Storage:
Store at room temperature. Shelf life: 3 years.
