Application: Used for Staphylococci MPN (Most Probable Number) counting. Requires the addition of 0.1 mL of 1% Potassium Tellurite solution before use.

Formula (per liter):

• Tryptone (10.0 g)

• Beef Extract (5.0 g)

• Yeast Extract (5.0 g)

• D-Mannitol (20.0 g)

• Sodium Chloride (5.0 g)

• Lithium Chloride (5.0 g)

• Glycine (1.2 g)

• Sodium Pyruvate (3.0 g)

• Final pH: 6.9 ± 0.2 (at 25°C)

Preparation Instructions:
Dissolve 54.2 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes. After cooling to approximately 50°C, aseptically add 1.05 mL of 1% Potassium Tellurite solution. Mix well and dispense 19 mL into sterile test tubes (20 × 200 mm). Ready for use.
