Gentamicin Agar Base – 250g | Selective Medium for Vibrio cholerae

Gentamicin Agar Base is a selective medium for isolating Vibrio cholerae from clinical and environmental samples.

Applications:

✔️ Primary isolation in cholera outbreaks

✔️ Water and food safety testing

✔️ Clinical specimen processing

Formula (Per Liter):

– Peptone: 10.0g

– Beef Extract: 3.0g

– Sodium Sulfite: 3.0g

– Sodium Citrate: 10.0g

– Sodium Chloride: 5.0g

– Sucrose: 10.0g

– Agar: 15.0g

pH 8.4 ± 0.2 (25°C)

Protocol:

1️⃣ Suspend 56.0g in 1L water

2️⃣ Boil 1-2 minutes

3️⃣ Cool to 50-55°C

4️⃣ Add 1 Gentamicin Supplement per 100ml

5️⃣ Mix → Pour plates
