Freshwater Fish Agar (FWA) – Pathogen Detection Medium for Aquaculture (250g)
Specialized Freshwater Fish Agar Medium for Aquatic Pathogen Isolation
Formulated specifically for detecting bacterial pathogens in freshwater fish, this agar combines balanced nutrients (5.0g/L peptone + 2.5g/L beef/yeast extracts) with essential minerals to support optimal growth of aquatic microorganisms. The pH-stabilized (7.3±0.1) formula ensures reliable results in fish disease diagnostics and hatchery health monitoring.
Critical Applications:
🐟 Disease Diagnosis: Isolate Aeromonas, Pseudomonas and other fish pathogens
🏥 Hatchery QC: Monitor bacterial loads in breeding facilities
🔬 Research Studies: Investigate fish microbiome and antibiotic resistance
Technical Advantages:
✅ Aquatic-Adapted Formula: Magnesium sulfate (0.05g/L) enhances pathogen recovery
✅ Energy-Rich: 1.0g/L glucose supports fastidious bacteria
✅ Osmotic Balance: 5.0g/L NaCl mimics fish physiological conditions
✅ Ready-to-Prepare: 31.3g/L standardized concentration
Preparation Protocol:
Suspend 31.3g in 1L purified water
Boil until complete dissolution
Autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes
Critical: Shake during cooling to prevent agar sedimentation
Pour plates at ≈50°C
