Product Overview:
Cysteine Heart Blood Agar with antibiotics is a selective culture medium designed for the cultivation and isolation of Campylobacter species. It provides enriched nutrients to support bacterial growth while maintaining selectivity when combined with appropriate supplements. This medium is commonly used in microbiological laboratories for clinical diagnostics, food safety testing, and research applications.
Preparation Instructions:
Dissolve 54.0 g of powder in 1 L of distilled or deionized water.
Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until fully dissolved.
Dispense 100 mL per bottle and sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.
Shake well after sterilization and maintain at 50–55℃.
Under aseptic conditions, for each 100 mL medium, add:
2 vials of CH Medium Supplement
2 vials of Polymyxin B Sulfate solution
1 vial of Novobiocin stock solution
Gently mix and then add 10 mL of sterile defibrinated sheep blood (pre-warmed to 35℃).
Mix gently, pour into sterile Petri dishes, allow to solidify, and store for use.
