
CFAT Agar Base for Actinomyces Isolation and Cultivation – 250g
CFAT Agar Base (Cadmium Sulfate Fluoride Acridine Trypticase Agar Base; also known as Cadmium Fluoride Acriflavin Tellurite Agar Base) is a specialized microbiological medium used for the selective isolation and cultivation of Nocardia and Actinomyces species. It is widely applied in microbial research for accurate identification of filamentous bacteria.

Shelf Life: 3 years (store at room temperature)
Preparation Instructions:
Dissolve 50.0g of the medium in 980ml of distilled or deionized water.
Add:
Acriflavin solution (0.12mg) – 10 vials
Alkaline fuchsin solution – 10 vials
Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until completely dissolved.
Dispense as required and sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
After sterilization, shake gently, pour into plates, and allow to solidify.
Optionally, supplement with 5% sterile defibrinated sheep blood for specific applications.
This medium provides a selective environment suitable for Nocardia and Actinomyces, ensuring reliable microbial growth for laboratory studies.
