Product Overview:
Campylobacter Agar Base is a selective medium designed for the isolation and cultivation of Campylobacter species. This medium, when supplemented with 10% sterile sheep blood and appropriate selective agents, provides optimal growth conditions for Campylobacter while suppressing background flora. It is widely applied in clinical diagnostics, veterinary microbiology, and food safety laboratories for the detection of pathogenic Campylobacter.

Composition (per liter):

• Proteose Peptone No. 3 – 15.0 g

• Liver Digest – 2.5 g

• Yeast Extract – 5.0 g

• Sodium Chloride – 5.0 g

• Agar – 12.0 g

• pH 7.4 ± 0.2 (25℃)

Instructions for Use:

1. Suspend 39.5 g of the medium in 1 L of deionized water.

2. Heat to boiling for at least 1 minute until completely dissolved.

3. Dispense into containers and sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

4. Cool to 50–55℃.

5. For each 100 mL medium, aseptically add 10% sterile sheep blood and selective agents as required.

6. Mix well, pour into sterile Petri dishes, allow to solidify, and store for later use.
