Buffered Listeria Enrichment Broth Base (BLEB) provides a reliable medium for the selective enrichment of Listeria in microbiology laboratories.

Composition (per liter):

  • Pancreatic Digest of Casein – 17.0g

  • Soytone – 3.0g

  • Sodium chloride – 5.0g

  • Dextrose – 2.5g

  • Dipotassium phosphate – 2.5g

  • Yeast extract – 6.0g

  • Disodium hydrogen phosphate – 9.6g

  • Potassium dihydrogen phosphate – 1.35g

  • Sodium pyruvate – 1.1g

  • pH 7.3 ± 0.1 (25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

  1. Dissolve 48.0g of the medium in 1L distilled or deionized water with gentle warming and stirring.

  2. Dispense 225ml portions into bottles.

  3. Sterilize at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

  4. Cool to room temperature, add 25.0g sample, and incubate at 30℃ for 4 hours.

  5. Supplement each 225ml culture with Acriflavin solution (2.25mg), Listeria selective supplement, and Nalidixic acid solution, mix well, and continue incubation at 30℃ for up to 48 hours.

Storage: Store at room temperature. Shelf life up to 3 years.
