Broth Medium for Enumeration of Phosphobacteria is a solid medium designed for counting phosphate-solubilizing bacteria in soil and fertilizer samples. It provides a nutrient-rich environment for accurate enumeration of bacterial colonies.

Formula (per liter):

  • Peptone – 5.0 g

  • Beef Extract – 5.0 g

  • Sodium Chloride – 5.0 g

  • Agar – 20.0 g

  • Final pH: 6.9 ± 0.1 (25℃)


Preparation Instructions:

  1. Dissolve 35.0 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.

  2. Heat to boiling until completely dissolved.

  3. Dispense into suitable containers.

  4. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

  5. Mix well after sterilization.

  6. Pour plates and allow to solidify before use.
