Bromcresol Purple Glucose Peptone Water Medium is a specialized microbiological culture medium used for sterilization efficacy testing. It contains glucose as a carbohydrate source, does not contain sucrose or soluble starch, and is formulated with bromcresol purple as a pH indicator for detecting microbial growth and fermentation activity.

Composition (per liter)

• Peptone – 10.0 g

• Dextrose – 5.0 g

• Bromcresol Purple – 0.012 g

• pH 7.1 ± 0.1 (25°C)

Preparation Instructions

1. Dissolve 15.0 g of the medium powder in 1 L of distilled or deionized water.

2. Warm gently to aid dissolution.

3. Dispense 5 ml portions into test tubes.

4. Sterilize at 115°C for 30 minutes.

5. Cool and store for use.
