BM Solid Medium

BM Solid Medium is designed for the cultivation of Acetobacterium woodii and related microorganisms. This solid medium provides essential minerals and salts, allowing for reliable colony growth in laboratory research.

Formula (per liter):

• Sodium Chloride – 4.1 g

• Disodium Phosphate – 8.6 g

• Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate – 0.9 g

• Magnesium Sulfate – 0.0044 g

• Manganese Sulfate – 0.003 g

• Boric Acid – 0.0034 g

• Ferrous Sulfate – 0.0005 g

• Calcium Chloride – 0.0018 g

• Agar – 13.0 g

pH 7.8–8.2 (at 25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

1. Suspend 26.6 g of powder in 1 L distilled or deionized water.

2. Heat to boiling until completely dissolved.

3. Dispense into containers or Petri dishes.

4. Sterilize by autoclaving at 110℃ for 15 minutes.

5. Cool to room temperature and allow to solidify before use.
