
Bean Agar Medium 250g for Actinobacteria Selection and Culture
Bean Agar Medium is a dehydrated culture medium used for the selection and cultivation of actinobacteria. It is widely applied in microbiological research and laboratory studies.
Composition per liter:
Soybean Meal: 20.0 g
Starch: 5.0 g
Sucrose: 10.0 g
Peptone: 2.0 g
Yeast Extract: 2.0 g
Sodium Chloride: 2.0 g
Dipotassium Phosphate: 0.5 g
Calcium Carbonate: 0.1 g
Agar: 15.0 g
Final pH: 7.3 ± 0.1 (25℃)
Preparation:
Weigh 56.6 g of the medium and suspend in 1 L of distilled or deionized water. Heat with stirring and boil for more than 1 minute until fully dissolved. Dispense into containers and sterilize at 121℃ for 15 minutes. After sterilization, mix well and cool to 50–55℃ before pouring plates. Allow to solidify before use. The medium is turbid; shake gently before pouring plates.
