The BBL Broth Medium is a liquid culture medium specially formulated for the growth and enrichment of Bifidobacteria. Its nutrient-rich composition, including peptone, yeast extract, dextrose, tomato extract, liver infusion, and L-cysteine, supports robust bacterial growth, making it ideal for research, probiotic production, and microbiological studies.

Composition (per liter):

• Peptone – 15.0 g

• Yeast Extract – 2.0 g

• Soluble Starch – 0.5 g

• L-Cysteine – 0.5 g

• Sodium Chloride – 5.0 g

• Tomato Extract – 5.0 g

• Dextrose – 20.0 g

• Tween 80 – 1.0 mL

• Liver Infusion – 0.3 g

• pH: 6.8 ± 0.1 (25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

1. Dissolve 49.3 g of medium in 1L distilled or deionized water.

2. Heat gently to boiling to ensure complete dissolution.

3. Dispense into appropriate containers.

4. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

5. Cool to room temperature before inoculation.
