Basic Fuchsin Stain Solution is a high-quality laboratory reagent formulated as a 0.5% basic fuchsin solution, ideal for various staining procedures, including the staining of protein toxin crystals. It ensures clear visualization of target structures under microscopic examination, making it a reliable tool for laboratory analysis.

Key Specifications:

  • Packaging: 5ml/vial × 4 vials/box

  • Storage Condition: Room temperature, protected from light

  • Shelf Life: 1 year

  • Component: 0.5% basic fuchsin solution

Intended Use:

Suitable for laboratory staining applications, with a typical use case in the staining of protein toxin crystals for microbial analysis.

How to Use (Example: Staining of Protein Toxin Crystals):

  1. Pick a small amount of cultured bacterial lawn onto a slide, add distilled water, mix well, and spread into a thin film.

  1. Air-dry naturally, fix over a low flame, add methanol and let it act for 30 seconds, then pour off the methanol and dry over a low flame.

  1. Cover the slide with basic fuchsin stain solution, heat over a flame (with slight vapor, do not let the stain boil) for 1-2 minutes. Remove from the flame, replace the stain solution, and heat-stain again for 30 seconds. Pour off the stain, rinse thoroughly with distilled water, and air-dry before microscopic examination.

  1. Observe for free spores (light red) and dark red rhombic, square, or other shaped protein crystals. If free spores are not abundant, incubate the culture at room temperature for another 2-3 days before re-examining. Note that except for Bacillus thuringiensis, other spore-forming bacteria do not produce protein crystals.
