Azotobacter Broth (Glucose) | Nitrogen-Fixing Bacteria Culture Medium
Azotobacter Broth (Glucose) is a liquid medium specifically designed for cultivating nitrogen-fixing bacteria from soil samples. Glucose is utilized as the main carbon source to support the growth of Azotobacter species. This medium is widely used in soil microbiology research, nitrogen fixation studies, and enrichment culture of beneficial microorganisms.

Formula (per liter):
Dipotassium Phosphate – 1.0 g
Magnesium Sulphate – 0.2 g
Sodium Chloride – 0.2 g
Dextrose (Glucose) – 10.0 g
Ferrous Sulphate – 0.005 g
Final pH: 7.6 ± 0.2 (25℃)
Preparation Instructions:
Suspend 11.4 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water.
Warm gently until completely dissolved.
Dispense into suitable containers.
Add 1 vial of Soil Extract Solution per 100 ml of medium.
Sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.
Allow to cool before use.
