APA Medium Base for Halophilic Bacteria – 250g
APA Medium Base is a specialized microbiological medium formulated for the cultivation of halophilic bacteria. With a high salt concentration and a rich blend of peptone, yeast extract, glucose, and minerals, this medium supports robust growth of salt-loving microorganisms. Ideal for microbiology research, environmental studies, and extremophile bacterial cultivation.
Key Features:
Formulated specifically for halophilic bacterial growth.
Contains sodium chloride, glucose, protease-peptone, yeast extract, and essential salts.
High-salt environment supports extremophile bacterial studies.
Easy to prepare and sterilize.
Long shelf life: 3 years at room temperature.
Instructions for Use:
Dissolve 64.0g of APA Medium Base in 900ml distilled or deionized water.
Boil for 1 minute until completely dissolved.
Adjust final volume to 1L with distilled or deionized water.
Sterilize by autoclaving at 121°C for 15 minutes.
Cool to approximately 55°C, add 100ml of sterile 10% sodium carbonate solution, mix well.
