Application

Alexandrov Medium (No Agar) is a base medium for the cultivation of potassium-solubilizing bacteria (silicate bacteria). It is provided as a dry powder and can be used to prepare liquid or solid media depending on experimental requirements.

Composition (per liter)

• Sucrose – 5.0 g

• Magnesium sulfate – 0.5 g

• Disodium hydrogen phosphate – 2.0 g

• Ferric chloride – 0.005 g

• Calcium carbonate – 0.1 g

• Soil minerals – 1.0 g

pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 (25℃)

Instructions for Use

1. Weigh 8.6 g of the powder and dissolve in 1 L of distilled or deionized water.

2. Sterilize by autoclaving at 121℃ for 15 minutes.

3. The medium can be used as a liquid base or further processed into agar plates if required.
