0.5% Glucose Broth Medium is a general-purpose liquid microbiological medium formulated for sterility testing and routine microbial cultivation. The addition of 0.5% glucose provides an easily metabolized carbohydrate source, supporting the growth of a wide range of microorganisms during sterility examinations.

This medium is commonly used in pharmaceutical sterility testing, microbiological quality control, and laboratory research, where reliable bacterial growth and recovery are required.

Medium Composition (per liter)

• Peptone: 10.0 g

• Sodium Chloride: 5.0 g

• Glucose: 5.0 g

• Beef Extract: 3.0 g

Final pH: 7.2 ± 0.2 (at 25 °C)

Preparation Instructions

Suspend 23 g of the medium in 1 liter of distilled or deionized water (adjust proportionally as needed). Heat with stirring until completely dissolved. Dispense into suitable containers and sterilize by autoclaving at 121 °C for 15 minutes. Allow to cool before use.

• Store the dehydrated medium in a tightly closed container
