Product Overview:
Violet Red Bile Agar (VRBA) is a selective solid culture medium commonly used for the isolation and enumeration of coliform bacteria. The formulation contains bile salts and crystal violet and is suitable for routine microbiological analysis in food, water, and environmental testing laboratories.

Composition (per liter):

• Peptone – 7.0 g

• Yeast Extract – 3.0 g

• Lactose – 10.0 g

• Bile Salts – 1.5 g

• Sodium Chloride – 5.0 g

• Neutral Red – 0.03 g

• Crystal Violet – 0.002 g

• Agar – 15.0 g

• pH 7.4 ± 0.2 (at 25℃)

Preparation Instructions:

1. Suspend 41.5 g of the medium in 1 L of distilled or deionized water.

2. Heat and boil for 1 minute with stirring until completely dissolved.

3. Dispense into suitable containers.

4. Cool to 45–50℃.

5. Pour into sterile Petri dishes and allow to solidify before use.
