Product Overview:
Potato Sucrose Agar (PSA) is a widely used microbiological culture medium designed for the cultivation of fungi. With a nutrient-rich formula containing potato infusion and sucrose, this medium provides an ideal environment for fungal isolation, growth, and study. It is particularly suitable for laboratories, research institutions, and quality control testing.

Composition (per liter):

  • Infusion from potatoes (from 200g peeled potatoes): 7.0g

  • Sucrose: 20.0g

  • Agar: 20.0g

Preparation Method:

  1. Dissolve 47.0g of the medium in 1L of distilled or deionized water.

  2. Heat to boiling for 1 minute until fully dissolved.

  3. Dispense into appropriate containers.

  4. Sterilize at 115°C for 30 minutes.

  5. Shake gently after sterilization to prevent agar sedimentation.

  6. Allow to cool before use.

Notes:

  • This medium appears turbid due to the high potato powder content.

  • Shake gently before pouring plates to ensure homogeneity.
